As a normal human being, we do worry about issues at times such as
financial issues, relationship issues, work and school issues but we worry on a
mild basis and do not spend a large amount of our time doing so. Unfortunately,
this is not the case for some others who are constantly worrying about
absolutely everything leading to what we know as
generalized anxiety disorder or
GAD for short.
The sufferer of generalized anxiety disorder will live in a chronic and
exaggerated state of worry and tension most of the time. The extreme emotions of
GAD may arise even if there is nothing happening to provoke these feelings.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder symptoms can also induce the sufferer to be always
anticipating disaster. In this type of situation the source of the danger is
somewhat difficult and hard to pinpoint.
Symptoms of general anxiety disorder are basically excessive amounts
of fear and worrying, with the feelings lasting anywhere between days to a few
months at length and the worrying can occur for almost any functions that one is
anticipating or participating in. Controlling these fear and worry is
unfortunately difficult for the sufferer of GAD to control.
However for these symptoms to be counted as part of
generalized anxiety
disorder symptoms they must last for any number of days within a 6 month time
duration. Once it has been established that these are valid symptoms of GAD then
your doctor can prescribe medication or treatment to control this mental disorder.
In order to fully determine the occurrence of general
anxiety disorder, some of the physical symptoms must also be present within the
six months observation period. Some of the physical signs may be feelings of
agitation, fatigue, a lack of concentration. Mentally we may also feel
lethargic, easily irritated, tensile behaviors, irritated sleeping patters and
at times the mind will be blank.
A
critical sufferer of general anxiety disorder will go on to worry about him or
her not having panic attacks, separation anxiety, excess compulsive disorder,
and also gaining a large amount of weight. He or she may also have multiple
grievances about a series of illnesses or even life threatening sickness.
As you can see for the sufferer of
generalized anxiety disorder there are many
things that can invoke generalized anxiety disorder symptoms. Therefore if you
suspect that you are indeed suffering from this complaint it is best to get
treatment immediately so that you can live a normal fulfilling life.
